A team of financial advisers from UBS AG (UBS, UBSN.VX), who managed $900 million in client assets, has launched an independent advisory firm.

The newly formed Fusion Family Wealth LLC has partnered with Dynasty Financial Partners, according to the wealth-management services and technology platform provider.

The team has offices in both New York City and Long Island, N.Y., and was founded by Jonathan Blau. His wealth-management practice is rooted in the behavioral finance aspect of investing and how emotion and psychology affect investors’ financial decisions.

Mr. Blau is joined by Harvey Radler and wealth advisers Jeffrey Blick and Joel Bodner. All four men previously worked for UBS Wealth Management Americas for five years before partnering with Dynasty in November, according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records.

They also are joined by James F. Cloudman Jr., a senior client service specialist.

A spokesman for UBS confirmed the departures, but declined to comment further.

One of a handful of high-profile destinations for advisers who break from the major brokerages, Dynasty was started in 2010. It provides independent adviser teams with access to a platform for trading, clearing, research and other support services. While it does offer financing options for advisers setting up their own firms, it does not own the firms and the advisers are not employees of Dynasty.
